CNC Machine
This project was really fun!! I had a bit of a problem with my phone breaking and loosing all of my footage of the actual cutting, but I did end up sending a picture to my friend. That's what I've put here!

Unconventional Eyewear
In class discussions we talked a lot about my spiral glasses idea. I was told it looked a lot like old cartoons and I decided to role with it.
I had this idea to make glasses that could fit LED lights in it. I was thinking I could animate some eyes with the LED's.

My first attempt looked absolutely terrifying XD It reminds me of frog eyes. So I changed the idea a bit more.
So I went back to the spiral idea, it looked a ton better, but I still wasn't happy with the idea. I went back to the drawing board.
I came up with this idea of incorporating traditional animation and glasses. I'm calling them Flip Note Glasses. The idea is that I'll add in small binder clips, paper, and have some animated eyes people can flip through!
I ended up only modelling the glasses themselves, I wasn't sure if I should put in the paper or the binder clips, but I just ended up modelling the part that would be 3d Printed.

Final Reverse Engineered Project
I really enjoy how the final project turned out! I think it looks pretty much identical to the object that I had chosen! Looking back, I do wish that I had chosen a harder object to model, but it all worked out because I ended up doing the bulk of this project while I was sick with the stomach flu ^-^
For this bit, the rendering was the toughest. I had a hard time remembering where exactly I could find the rendering settings, but with some help from YouTube, I was able to figure everything out ^^
Now my little box of candies are immortalised! Which is good, because I ate all of the little candies..... Next time I shall pick one that is not edible!
Update
The hardest part was trying to figure out why the colours were all flippy floppy. Turns out they were just on the same plane, so I had to extend some of the colours just a tiny bit outwards!!

Creating the Vinyl Cut Outs! Can't wait to cut them out!
I ended up going with this idea! I really wanted to challenge myself with curvy lines, but I also wanted to apply it to my own work. This is something I plan on putting onto some converse to spice it up!!
I think that they turned out pretty good!! I'm not super happy with how many jagged edges came out of it. My style is very curvy, which I found is limited in Rhino, but could just be that I'm not well versed in the curve tool. I used the line tool for this, and just did a ton of lines to make to look curved!
I'm excited to get it cut out and put onto my shoes!!
Changing my idea completely? I had fun with this one
I was really inspired by the glazed cups that Brian showed us in class today. They were very illustrative, which for some reason I hadn't thought I should do something illustrative. It made me think back to a project that I had once bought the items for, but never ending up completing it. I had once wanted to paint my little characters on canvas shoes. I never did probably because the process would take a while, and paint is not my forte, but mostly because having an under sketch is incredibly difficult.
With vinyl though, not only does it speed up the work, but it also eliminates the guess work I would have to go through to complete it. Hopefully this way I can get the paint to go on flat!
So I started sketching. I ended up choosing characters that are near and dear to my heart, just because I've drawn them for so long!! I started drawing these two back in 2012, I believe, and I have used them for a vinyl project before, so I thought I would revisit them!
I bought those canvas shoes so long ago, I've worn holes in the bottom! So time to go buy some new ones :D

I drew two illustrations to be put on either shoe. I wanted some variety so each shoe is fun to look at! Lots of work for me, but it will look awesome once everything is put together nicely!
